God blesses those who are persecuted because they live for God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God blesses you when you are mocked and persecuted and lied about because you are My followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven.

If you fully obey the LORD your God by keeping all the commands I am giving you today, the LORD your God will exalt you above all the nations of the world. You will be blessed in your towns and in the country. You will be blessed wherever you go, both in coming and going.

Today, I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessing and curses. I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, that you and your descendants might live!

Jesus … asked him, "Would you like to get well?" "I can't, sir," the sick man said, "for I have on one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred up." Jesus told him, "Stand up, pick up your sleeping mat, and walk!" Instantly, the man was healed!

Sometimes, God asks us if we want to be made whole.

Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. Then you will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts.

When we submit our lives to the Holy Spirit's control, we experience joy and peace.

With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation! "See, God has come to save me. I will trust in Him and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation."

Receive God's strength as you spend time drinking from the fountain of salvation.

You can lie down without fear and enjoy pleasant dreams. You need not be afraid of disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the LORD is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.

So take a new grip with your tried hands and stand firm on your shaky leg. Mark out a straight path for your feet. Then those who follow you, though they are weak and lame, will not stumble and fall but will become strong.

We are called to live holy lives for God's glory, for our own benefit, and to assist others.

All who proclaim that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in Him. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

If God's love truly filled our hearts, He will be revealed in our words and actions.

Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!

God freely gives to us so that we may freely give to others.

This job is too heavy a burden for you to handle all by yourself. Find some capable, honest men. They will help you carry the load, making the task easier for you. Then you will be able to endure the pressures.

Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Whoever pursues godliness and unfailing love will find life, godliness, and honor. Choose a good reputation over great riches, for being held in high esteem is better than having silver or gold.

Choosing God's path leads to true riches, which can't be tarnished or stolen.

This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is changing lives everywhere, just as it changed yours that very first day you heard and understood the truth about God's great kindness to sinners.

The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear Him. For He understands how weak we are: He knows we are only dust. But the love of the LORD remains forever with those who fear Him.

Under His direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

The LORD is my strength and my song; He has become my victory. Songs of joy and victory are sung in the camp of the godly. I will not die, but I will live to tell what the LORD has done.

God gives us strength and victory as we praise and worship Him!

So you must obey the government for two reasons: to keep from being punished and to keep a clear conscience. Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid so they can keep on doing the work God intended them to do.

But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When He was hung on the cross, He took upon Himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."

Christ was held to the cross not by nails - but by His love for us.

If you refuse to take up your cross and follow Me, you are not worthy of being Mine. If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give it up for Me, you will find it.

In everything you do, stay away from complaining and arguing, so that no one can speak a word of blame against you. You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of crooked and perverse people. Let your lives shine brightly before them.

The God instructed the people as follows: "I am the LORD your God, who rescued you from slavery in Egypt. Do not worship any other gods besides Me. Do not make idols of any kind, whether in the shape of birds or animals of fish."

Do not misuse the name of the LORD your God. The LORD will not let you go unpunished If you misuse His name.

Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. The seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God.

Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the LORD your God will give you. This is the first of the Ten Commandments that ends with a promise. And this is the promise: If your honor your father and mother, "you will live a long life, full of blessing."

Assure you, if you have faith and don't doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, "May God lift you up and throw you into the sea," and it will happen. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.

The spirit is God's guarantee that He will give us everything He promised and that He has purchased us to be His own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.

And also, dear Christian friends, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice - the kind He will accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is this too much to ask?

As living sacrifices, we must offer ourselves to God each and every day.

Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives' tales. Spend your time and energy in training yourself for spiritual fitness. Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is much more important, for it promises a reward in both this life and the next.

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again - rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.

Did you receive the Holy Spirit by keeping the law? Of course not, for the Holy Spirit came upon you only after you believed the message you heart about Christ. Have you lost your senses? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?

The LORD is my light and my salvation - se why should I be afraid? The LORD protects me from danger - so why should I tremble? Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will know no fear. Even if they attack me I remain confident.

When we are in darkness, He is our light. When we are in danger, He is our protection.

Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united in the Holy Spirit, and bind yourselves together with peace.

Fools make fun of guilt, but the godly acknowledge it and seek reconciliation. Blessed are those who have a tender conscience, but the stubborn are headed for serious trouble.

The Holy Spirit uses our conscience to convict us of sin … then assure us of forgiveness.

The disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Which of us is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?" Jesus called a small child over to Him. Then He said, "I assure you, unless you turn from your sins and become as little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven."

To enter God's kingdom, we must lay aside all pride.

Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad - because these trials will make you partners with Christ in His suffering, and afterward you will have the wonderful joy of sharing His glory.

Upright citizens bless a city and make it prosper, but the talk of the wicked tears it apart. No real harm befalls the godly, but the wicked have their fill of trouble.

Our word can make an impact on our communities - for good or evil.

The Lord says, "I will give you back your health and heal your wounds." Now you are called an outcast. But the LORD says this: "There will be joy and songs of thanksgiving."

If you want a happy life and good days, keep your tongue from speaking evil, and keep your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Work hard at living in peace with others. Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

October 9

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. This is the wonderful message He has given us to tell others. We are Christ's ambassadors.

As Christ's ambassadors, we carry an urgent message of peace to the world.

 

 

October 10

Suddenly, a terrible storm camp up. …But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples…woke Him up, shouting, "Lord, save us! "Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!" Then He stood up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly all was calm.

- Matthew 8:24-26

Jesus can calm the storm - no matter how strong the wind and waves.

 

 

October 11

You will experience all these blessings if you obey the LORD your God: Your will be blessed with may children and productive fields. You will be blessed with fertile herds and flocks. You will be blessed with baskets overflowing with fruit, and with kneading bowls filled with bread.

- Deuteronomy 28:2,4-5

God fills our lives with blessings - when we obey Him.

 

 

October 12

They joined with the other believers and devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, sharing in the Lord's Supper and in prayer. And all the believers met together constantly and shared everything they had.

- Acts 2:42-44

Bible study, fellowship, communion and prayer are all essential to Christian growth.

 

 

October 13

And further, you will submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. You wives will submit to your husbands as you do to the Lord. And you husbands must love your wives with the same love Christ showed the church. He gave up His life for her.

- Ephesians 5:21022,25

Mutual submission yields unity and harmony.

 

 

October 14

Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You also must run in such a way that you will win. All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.

- 1 Corinthians 9:24-25

Self-control helps us stay on course - and win and eternal prize.

 

 

October 15

Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. She offers you life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly.

- Proverbs 3:15-16,18

God's wisdom is a tree of life, offering protection and sustenance.

 

 

October 16

I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in Me because of their testimony. My prayer for all of them is that they will be one, just as You and I are one, Father - that just as You are in Me and I am in You, so they will be in us, and the world will believe You sent Me.

- John 17:20-21

The world takes notice when Christians demonstrate love and unity.

 

 

October 17

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear, even if earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. For You are my hiding place; You protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory.

- Psalms 46:1-2; 32:7

During times of upheaval, we have a heavenly heaven!

 

 

October 18

If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the fault. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back.

- Matthew 18:15

The enemy can't cause division if believers are quick to reconcile!

 

 

October 19

The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He will make me as surefooted as a deer and bring me safely over the mountains.

- Habakkuk 3:19A

God gives us confidence and endurance - no matter where His path may lead us.

 

 

October 20

Throw off your old evil nature and your former way of life. Instead, there must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts and attitudes. You must display a new nature because you are a new person, created in God's likeness - righteous, holy and true.

- Ephesians 4:22A, 23-24

Do you need a spiritual "makeover"?

 

 

October 21

But in that coming day, no weapon turned against you will succeed. And everyone who tells lies in court will be brought to justice. These benefits enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from ME. I, the LORD, have spoken!

Deadly weapons fail against the shield of faith.

 

 

October 22

The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear it if the spirit is crushed? Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when dreams come true, there is life and joy.

- Proverbs 18:14; 13:12

The eternal hope of God gives strength, courage and joy.

 

 

October 23

Yet now He has brought you back as His friends. He has done this through His death on the cross in His own human body. As a result, He has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before Him without a single fault.

- Colossians 1:22

Because we trust in Christ, God sees us as holy, blameless and without fault!

 

 

October 24

I also tell you this: If two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask, My Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together because they are Mine, I am there among them.

- Matthew 18:19-20

Are your prayers unanswered? Ask a friend to intercede with you.

 

 

October 25

Have mercy on me, O God, because of Your unfailing love. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. Restore to me again the joy of Your salvation, and make me willing to obey You. Then I will teach Your ways to sinners, and they will return to You.

- Psalm 51:1A, 2, 12-13

If we walk humbly before God, we can help lost souls find Him.

 

 

October 26

Pray that your love for each other will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in your knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until Christ returns.

- Philippians 1:9-10

Jesus wants our hearts to overflow with His love.

 

 

October 27

Then he said to me, "This is what the LORD says: … It is not by force nor by strength, but by My Spirit, says the LORD Almighty."

- Zechariah 4:6

A lifetime of our own effort cannot accomplish what the Holy Spirit can do in an instant!

 

 

October 28

All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

- 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

The lessons we learn during life's hard times can bring hope and encouragement to others.

 

 

October 29

If you plot evil, you will be lost; but if you plan good, you will be granted unfailing love and faithfulness. Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil; joy fills hearts that are planning peace!

- Proverbs 14:22; 12:20

Offended? Don't stoop to the world's tactics; God has a better way to respond.

 

 

October 30

For He raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with Him in the heavenly realms - all because we are one with Christ Jesus; because of Christ and our faith in Him, we can now come fearlessly into God's presence, assured of His glad welcome.

- Ephesians 2:6; 3:12

In Christ, we are raised to new life - today and for all eternity.

 

 

October 31

Jesus called His twelve disciples to Him and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness.

- Matthew 10:1

God gives all authority to Jesus - and He shares it with us, His disciples.

 

 

November 1

I want you to share your food with the hungry. … Give clothes to those who need them. … If you do these things, your salvation will come like the dawn. Yes, your healing will come quickly. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the LORD will protect you from behind.

- Isaiah 58-8

When we freely bless others, God freely blesses us.

 

 

November 2

No one hates his own body but lovingly cares for it, just as Christ cares for His body, which is the church. And we are His body.

- Ephesians 5:29-30

Take good care of yourself - you belong to God!

 

 

November 3

The Lord says, "My wayward children come back to Me, and I will heal your wayward hearts."

- Jeremiah 3:22A

As our Creator, God understands how to mend our broken hearts.

 

 

November 4

Don't store up treasures here on earth, where they can be eaten by moths and get rusty, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where they will never become moth-eaten or rusty and where they will be safe from thieves.

- Matthew 6:19-20

Investing in God's kingdom yields eternal dividends!

 

 

November 5

To discipline and reprimand a child produces wisdom. Discipline your children, and they will give you happiness and peace of mind. Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it.

- Proverbs 29:15A, 17; 22:6

Loving discipline yields a harvest of righteousness.

 

 

November 6

Choose to love the LORD your God and to obey Him and commit yourself to Him, for He is your life. Then you will live long in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

- Deuteronomy 30:20

Commit yourself anew to the Lordship of Jesus Christ today.

 

 

November 7

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.

- 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Running low on love today? God offers a boundless supply.

 

 

November 8

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. There are three things that will endure - faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love.

Love is not a warm, fuzzy feeling - it's a commitment to care.

 

 

November 9

Whom have I in heaven but You? I desire You more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever.

Jesus rose from the grave to conquer death on our behalf.

 

 

November 10

You have heard that the law of Moses says, "Love your neighbor" and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven.

- Matthew 5:43-45A

Jesus calls us to a higher level of sacrifice and love.

 

 

November 11

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.

- James 5:16

Hidden sin hinders prayer!

 

 

November 12

Disregarding another's faults preserves love; telling about them separates close friends. There are "friends" who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.

- Proverbs 17:9; 18:24

Two enemies of Christian fellowship are un-forgiveness and gossip.

 

 

November 13

Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible. Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God.

- Romans 12:17-19A

Truth and righteousness protect us during times of uncertainty and strife.

 

 

November 14

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vine…even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation.

- Habakkuk 3:17-18

Despite the troubles of today, we have a sure hope for tomorrow.

 

 

November 15

I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.

Drop any heavy baggage you're carrying - and run unencumbered toward a bright future.

 

 

November 16

Now let Your unfailing love comfort me, just as You promised me, Your servant. Surround me with Your tender mercies so I may live, for Your law is my delight.

- Psalm 119:76-77

God's word surrounds, protects and comforts us.

 

 

November 17

Work hard so God can approve you. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and correctly explains the word of truth. Avoid godless, foolish discussions that lead to more and more ungodliness. This kind of talk spreads like cancer.

- 2 Timothy 2:15-17A

The fruit of our lips can be bitter - or sweet.

 

 

November 18

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are quite small and won't last very long Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever!

- 2 Corinthians 4:16-17

As Christians, we have no reason to fear growing old.

 

 

November 19

The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and He adds no sorrow with it. Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be happy.

- Proverbs 10:22; 16:20

By giving our lives to God we gain blessing and joy.

 

 

November 20

He felt great pity for the crowds that came, because … they were like sheep without a shepherd. "The harvest is so great, but the workers are so few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask Him to send out more workers for His fields."

- Matthew 9:36,37B-38

Like Jesus, we should have a heart of compassions for the lost.

 

 

November 21

No, O people, the LORD has already told you what is good, and this is what He requires: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.

- Micah 6:8

God requires righteousness, mercy and humility.

 

 

November 22

And you will always give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

- Ephesians 5:20

We should always have an attitude of gratitude!

 

 

November 23

How sweet are Your words to my taste; they are sweeter than honey. Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life.

- Psalm 119:103-104

We gain discernment by faithfully digesting God's word.

 

 

November 24

A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years … touched the fringe of His robe, I will be healed." Jesus turned around and said to her, "Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well. And the woman was healed at that moment.

- Matthew 9:20-22

Reach out to Jesus in faith today!

 

 

November 25

Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that He has promised.

- Hebrews 10:35-36

Sometimes we must patiently endure before inheriting a promised blessing.

 

 

November 26

My son, obey your father's commands, and don't neglect your mother's teaching. Wherever you walk, their counsel can lead you. When you sleep, they will protect you. When you wake up in the morning, they will advise you.

- Proverbs 6:20,22

The Lord can speak in any situation - if we're listening!

 

 

November 27

For You have given Him authority over everyone in all the earth. He gives eternal life to each one You have given Him. And this is the way to have eternal life - to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one You sent to earth.

- John 17:2-3

We cannot earn our way into Heaven - it is the gift of God.

 

 

November 28

Put all your rebellion behind you, and get for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? I don't want you to die, says the Sovereign LORD. Turn back and live!

- Ezekiel 18:31-32

We serve a loving God who desires that no one would perish.

 

 

November 29

Give to those who ask, and don't turn away from those who want to borrow. Do for others what you would like them to do for you. This is a summary of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

- Matthew 5:42; 7:12

Do you want love and respect? Then treat others that way.

 

 

November 30

Some nations boast of their armies and weapons, but we boast in the LORD our God. Those nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm.

- Psalm 20:7-8

Don't let the headlines frighten you - our trust is in the Lord Almighty!

 

 

December 1

For, "Who can know what the Lord is thinking? Who can give Him counsel?" But we can understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

- 1 Corinthians 2:16B

How amazing - as believers, we can have the mind of Christ!

 

 

December 2

For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need. And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

- Philippians 4:13,19

God provides all the strength and resources we need to do His will.

 

 

December 3

Who can I find a virtuous and capable wife? She is worth more than precious rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She will not hinder him but help him all her life.

- Proverbs 31:10-12

Successful relationships are based on mutual trust and respect.

Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired, because then you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. But when you give to someone, don't tell your left hand what your right hand is doing Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.

Is our motivation for giving the approval of others - or God?

 

 

December 5

If you need wisdom - if you want to know what God wants you to do - ask Him, and He will gladly tell you. But … be sure that you really expect Him to answer, for a doubtful mind is an unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

- James 1:5A, 6

See God's wisdom - and when He answers, hold fast to His word!

 

 

December 6

I will give thanks to Your name for Your unfailing love and faithfulness, because Your promises are backed by all the honor of Your name. When I pray, You answer me; You encourage me by giving me the strength I need.

- Psalm 128:2B-3

God's promises to us are unfailing and eternal.

 

 

December 7

We have the free gift of being accepted by God, even though we are guilty of many sins. The sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over us, but all who receive God's wonderful, gracious gift of righteousness will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.

- Romans 5:16B-17

The only remedy for sin and guilt is trusting in God through Jesus.

 

 

December 8

He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less. He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. I am of the earth, and my understanding is limited to the things of earth, but He has come from heaven.

- John 3:30-31

Like John the Baptist, we desire to make more room in our hearts for Jesus.

 

 

December 9

So if you are standing before the altar in the Temple, offering a sacrifice to God, and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, your sacrifice there beside the alter. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.

- Matthew 5:23-24

Worshiping God includes reconciling with others!

 

 

December 10

Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor. Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing.

God uses our hands to carry His comfort to the poor

 

 

December 11

I am the good shepherd; I know My own sheep, and they know Me, just as My Father knows Me and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep.

- John 12:14-15

Our Shepherd died to save us; we can trust Him with our lives.

 

 

December 12

And the angel showed me a pure river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, coursing down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life. … The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations.

- Revelation 22:1-2

Let the river of God refresh your soul today.

 

 

December 13

You brought me up from the grave, O LORD. You kept me from falling in to the pit of death. His anger lasts for a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may go on all night, but joy comes with morning.

- Psalm 30:3,5

Praise God - each sunrise brings a new beginning!

 

 

December 14

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

- Colossians 3:15

God's peace is advanced by our humility and gratitude.

 

 

December 15

Then the officer said, "Lord, I am not worthy to have You come into my home. Just say the word from where You are, and my servant will be healed!" Jesus … was amazed. He said, "I tell you the truth, I haven't seen faith like this in all land of Israel!"

The Roman soldier truly understood Jesus' power and authority. Do you?

 

 

December 16

Try to live in peace with everyone, and seek to live a clean and holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none of you will miss out on the special favor of God.

- Hebrews 12:14-15A

By our conduct, we can help others find God's peace and blessing.

 

 

December 17

Fear the LORD lengthens one's life. Ill-gotten gain has no lasting value, but right living can save your life. The name of the LORD is a strong fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe.

- Proverbs 10:27A, 2; 18:10

God is the source of our health and safety.

 

 

December 18

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to His cross and crucified them there.

- Galatians 5:24

The power of the cross brings purity to our lives.

 

 

December 19

I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow Your statues. Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.

- Psalm 119:59,105

God sent us His Word and His Light - in the person of Jesus Christ.

 

 

December 20

Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and He will give you all you need … if you live for Him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its owns worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.

- Matthew 6:32B-34

God controls the entire universe - He can certainly handle our needs!

 

 

December 21

He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; He offers strength to the weak. But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

- Isaiah 40:29,31

Are you worn and weary? Take time to wait on God.

 

 

December 22

Mary asked "But how can I have a baby? I am a virgin." The angel replied, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby born to you will be holy, and He will be called the Son of God. For nothing is impossible with God."

- Luke 1:34-35,37

Absolutely nothing is impossible with God!

 

 

December 23

Mary responded, "I am the Lord's servant, and I am willing to accept whatever He wants. May everything you have said come true." And then the angel left.

- Luke 1:38

We find true peace in accepting God's will for our lives.

 

 

December 24

Because of God's tender mercy, the light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.

- Luke 1:78-79

God sent Jesus to illuminate our hearts with His love.

 

 

December 25

But the angel reassured them. "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news of great joy for everyone! The Savior - yes, the Messiah, the Lord - has been born tonight in Bethlehem, the city of David!

- Luke 2:10-11

The good news of Jesus Christ is for everyone, everywhere!

 

 

December 26

May all who fear You find in me a cause for joy, for I have put my hope in Your word. Forever, O LORD, Your word stands firm in heaven.

- Psalm 119:74,89

Our faith in God can inspire hope in the hearts of others.

 

 

December 27

May you experience the love of Christ, thought it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

- Ephesians 3:19

God wants our hearts to brim with His love, life and power.

 

 

December 28

The LORD, the Maker of the heavens and earth - the LORD is His name - says this: "Ask Me and I will tell you some remarkable secrets about what is going to happen here."

- Jeremiah 33:2-3

God desires to share His plans with His followers.

 

 

December 29

For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, … we who are still alive … will be caught up on the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with Him forever.

- 1 Thessalonians 4:16A,C, 17

Are you ready?

 

 

December 30

We are already God's children, and we can't even imagine what we will be like when Christ returns. But we do know that when He comes we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He really is. And all who believe this will keep themselves pure, just as Christ is pure.

- 1 John 3:28-3

When we see Jesus, we will be like Him!

 

 

December 31

And now, dear friends, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

- Philippians 4:8

Purpose in your hear to grow daily in the knowledge and grace of Jesus.
